The cyclone Amfan that hit the Bay of Bengal has now turned into a super cyclone. What is now moving at high speed towards West Bengal and Odisha. It can move between West Bengal and Bangladesh and cross the parts of Sundarbans near Dig and the Hatia Islands (Bangladesh). So it is transformed into its terrible form. This puts the coastal states in danger of being damaged. The next 6 hours are very important for these states.In view of this, the meteorological department has issued an orange alarm from the east coast states of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur and nearby coastal areas. He said Amfan was the second super cyclone (cyclone storm) in Odisha after the 1999 storm. The 1999 super cyclone killed more than 9,000 people.

He said that the cyclone Amfan, which spans 700 kilometers and is about 15 kilometers high, moves in the middle at a speed of 220 to 230 kilometers per hour. It is moving north quickly and is 600 km south of Paradip in Odisha, 750 km south-southwest of Digha in West Bengal and about 1000 km south-south-west of Khepura in Bangladesh.

At the same time, the cyclone in the Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak and Balasore districts in Odisha is at greater risk. It was decided to stop rail and road traffic in the coastal areas of both states by May 20.

DG NDRF said that we meet all demands made by Odisha and West Bengal. NDRF teams have already been deployed in West Bengal. Apart from that, four teams were put on standby.
