Toyota Urban Cruiser leaflet leaked shows subtle differences from Brezza

The Urban Cruiser is Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s (TKM )’s next and highly anticipated launch in India. The sub-compact SUV based on Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is not expected to go on sale until the end of September. The booklet contains important details about The Vehicle Has Now Leaked. And the details should be that while it is clearly based on the brezza, it contains certain unique elements to create a special appeal.

The sub-compact SUV Urban Cruiser is Toyota’s second offshoot of a Maruti Suzuki car. The first is the Baleno hatchback, which was renamed and marketed as Glanza by the Japanese automaker.

The leaked brochure reveals that the Urban Cruiser will have a slightly different face than the Brezza, with the focus apparently on giving it a more aggressive look. The face is more pronounced and the grille receives two wide horizontal louvers, while the bumper receives considerable artificial ventilation slots. However, the headlights appear to be identical to those of the Brezza.

The similarity seems to continue to the display-mounted side mirrors and LED taillights, as well as a roof spoiler mounted to the brake light. Even the alloys on the 16-inch wheels appear to be the same.

Inside, the similarities only get stronger as the brochure shows a simple but neat line profile with an integrated infotainment screen. However, the Urban Cruiser gets two-tone dark brown shades – which the company had already confirmed. The storage options seem adequate, while there is a folding armrest in the back for the passengers.

It has already been confirmed that Urban Cruiser will get a 1.5-liter petrol engine under the hood and the automatic variant will have a Li-ion battery that enables functions such as torque support, regenerative braking and start / stop when idling. However, the brochure confirms that the car will be offered in six monotone and three two-tone color options.
Urban Cruiser is positioned as a somewhat premium offering than Brezza.
Expect Toyota to rate the Maruti Urban Cruiser a bit above the Brezza as it wants to position itself as a bit of a higher quality. Bookings for the car will start tomorrow (Saturday 22nd August) with a token amount of £ 11,000.
