Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut’s controversial remarks against another actor, Urmila Matondkar, took a political turn when the State Congress unit criticized the leaders of the Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for supporting what they believe Ranaut to be has led to relentless remarks against Mumbai and now Matondkar. She responded to Matondkar’s criticism by calling her “Rudaali,” a professional mourner who was hired in certain areas of Rajasthan after the death of a relative. Ranaut had previously compared Mumbai with Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Congress spokesman Sachin Sawant said BJP’s support encouraged Ranaut to use such heinous words for Urmila.
